Is Jack being paid 10 million per to score empty net goals?
I mean, we're bragging about empty netters now?
It's pretty Generational and without a doubt Franchise |

Rather have 2 empty net goals in one game then 2 concussions in one season .
Matthews is starting to become damaged goods |

As always, first in line to cry about what Garth wrote. Why don't you just ask him out on a date already? He's clearly all you think about. You wait on this website all day to hear from him. |

I know we all tease and Laff at Jack and even some of the comparisons back and fourth between JE and AM over the last couple years but, the fact is their BOTH extremely good young hockey players and I would love to have either one of them on my team.I am glad SOME of the hype between the both of them has died down some. The fact is that if AM didn't have some of the support last year with like maybe Nylander, Marner, others and had to do a lot on his own it might be a different story. If AM was a Sabre and had to go through some of the same things it might be different as things JE has gone through.
I also think Babcock has helped a lot and am still waiting for you guys to get Lafontaine back,or should I say praying he doesn't come back some day.
Both fan bases should be extremely happy with both of them and hopefully better things are coming.
Merry Christmas Sabre Fans. |

Well, said. Both of our franchises are lucky to finally have players of this caliber. Long overdue.

I love how the Sabres bend over backwards to appease jorts jack. They let him fire a coach. Hand him ten million a year. Play him 20 plus minutes a Game. Play him on the front end and back end of every power play. Let him in the ice during empty net opportunities to help pad his stats. It’s now wonder the team is going nowhere. There are no adults in the room.
Imagine this nonsense happening in TO. You know who is in charge there. Players are not rushed back from injury. HHoFers run the operation. The AHL team has more than 2-3 real prospects.
Leave it to Garth to start bragging about a good stretch. The team is still a mess. Not enough NHL talent or prospects in the system. Kane will be gone soon. The return will be a late #1 pick and a middling prospect. Every win takes them further away from Dahlin.
Why a so many Sabre fans buying the mess? |

Have fun dealing with Matthews multiple concussions. That whole superstar player in Toronto was certainty short lived, wasn't it.

OUCH! That does not sound promising at all
Actually it sounds about right with any concussion. If he's already skating that's a pretty good sign. My last concussion I couldn't do ANYTHING physical for 3 months.
And, why would the sharks give up a 24 year old Hertl, a prospect, and a 1st for Kane. That's stretching it a bit much. |

The sad part of all this is even without Matthews the Leafs rebuild is still ahead of what the Sabres are doing. It’s not even a contest anymore.
Matthews played 82 games as a rookie. Had a minor back injury and had his bell rung. Yet, statistically he is more durable than Eichel.
Like I said before. The Sabres rebuild has been a colossal failure. They are one of the worst franchises in the NHL. They have three top six forwards and one top four D man. Rochester is packed full of career AHL players. They have 3-4 real prospects in Rochester. If I were a Sabre fan I’d be angry. Not content with a few wins that ultimately will hurt them. Too many people are drinking the Garth Koolaid. Eichel coukd be a great player but he isn’t right now. Maturity? Leadership? Ten million a year for that? Sabre fans should be worried why this team is being lead by a rookie coach and rookie GM....again. Instead they are wishing for injury of their competition. Don’t worry. Matthews will be fine. As will the Leafs with their hall of fame leadership. |
